We love hosting field trip groups at the Black Earth Children's Museum! Our community-supported museum strives to make your field trip experience pleasant and engaging.

 

Our field trip rate is $6/student and there is no charge for teachers/adults. 

 

Typically field trip length is 1.5-2 hours.  2 hour maximum trip.

 

While we recognize that most groups prefer a morning field trip, for groups that are able to schedule a field trip in the afternoon, we can accommodate private field trip visits to the museum on Tuesday  and Thursday afternoons. 

 

There are a number of options we have to make your field trip special - depending on student age and group size, we may offer a couple of special activities that we set up in our multi-purpose room. We do have space for lunch or snack - we have an indoor multi-purpose room as well and an outdoor covered patio. Another wonderful option when weather permits is that there is a covered pavilion with picnic tables at Black Earth Veterans Memorial Park which is 1 block down from the museum. Depending upon the size of the group, some field trip groups will split into classrooms or simply in 1/2 and students spend 1/2 of their time at the museum and 1/2 at the playground and covered pavilion.

Your group can enjoy the entire Black Earth Children's Museum on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 1:00 all on their own!

We recommend age groups in the 4 to 8 year old range, and a optimal size of 25 kids. Larger groups can be accommodated with special arrangements.

Please note: We do not accept field trip groups during designated spring break or winter break weeks due to visitor volumes. 

We offer a fun option for your groups next outing.
